Hello world, I'm Daniela and this is By Soltana!
I've been enamored with fashion my whole life. I'm pretty sure I came out of the womb with a needle and thread. Watching my mom sew and DIY all of my outfit dreams growing up, I fell in love with the power of fashion. Through all the trials and tribulations of becoming a woman in today's world, I always found solace in my clothing, and the ability to choose my armor each and every day.
When I first began sewing I thought of it as little more than a hobby, and definitely not a big part of my future (fast forward to now, and I cant even spend a day without touching a crochet hook or a spool of thread lol).
While I’ve grown up sewing, my interest in environmental studies bloomed quite a bit later. As I have progressed through my studies, and learned the disheartening truths of climate change, I see a deep overlap with my interest in fashion. And thus, By Soltana is born. Clothing made with a purpose, for a purpose. I wanted to honor my goals of sustainability and ethicality while continuing to pursue my undying interest in fashion. Each piece is custom made to order, with the intention of minimizing excess costs for labor and waste. The slow and detailed construction of each piece lends to a garment that can withstand a lifetime of love. I hope to not only promote slow fashion, but also educate people on the grave social, environmental, and ethical detriments of our current fashion industry.
To me, fashion has been my greatest outlet and source of confidence in my life. As I have expanded By Soltana and seen the effects of REAL LIFE PEOPLE wearing my clothes, I have realized this is really, truly my dream. Everything I make is entwined with my love and desire to make people feel confident, beautiful, and absolutely unstoppable.
